We hope you had a great summer !

There's no doubt about it; 2026-27 will be an incredibly important year for OUSD. While our budget is moving in the right direction in many ways, there are still serious challenges to face, and MSEG is planning a number of events this fall as we try to influence the changes that must happen to make our district sustainable and give all of our students an opportunity to succeed.

We have confirmed two events over the next couple of weeks, and invite you to attend if you can:

• A virtual, multilingual follow up to our last spring meeting will be held via Zoom on Wednesday, September 2nd at 6:00pm
• Our fall kickoff engagement will commence in person on Thursday, September 10th at 6:00pm

More events will be announced as we confirm times and locations. Please let us know if you have questions and would like more information. You can read all about our efforts on the MSEG website. 

The information provided by you, our community, will be reflected publicly and become part of a narrative that supports a unified vision for OUSD. Here are some links to data from our engagements thus far:

• Our district reach so far, showing the schools and board districts that we’ve heard from, and the ones we still need to involve in our conversations.
• A demographic snapshot showing the overall representation across all our survey respondents.

This fall, we continue to prioritize reaching OUSD schools and families that are currently underrepresented in our engagements. Those events and others will appear on our website as their dates are confirmed, and we’ll send along additional updates when the calendar fills out.
